Meeting – Tuesday 6 July 2010

The theme of today’s meeting was “Reflection” – a thought provoking topic from president Clinton  given we’re half way through the year.  As part of his opening comment our club president also shared this famous quote from Henry Kissinger:  “If you don’t know where you are going any road will take you there.”

Marlene Krone followed up with a table topics session involving Shaun, Mervyn, Joanne, Glenn , Jo and Steve, who all participated in the impromptu speaking segment.

One of the major elements of Toastmasters is the opportunity it provides to gain constructive criticism and feedback on speaking skills and techniques.  With this in mind, Marlene ran a session for members on evaluations, and “the gift of growth”, which a well developed and considered evaluation can provide a speaker.

Once again, it was an inspiring start to the day for Central Park Toastmasters, with a mix of formal and impromptu speaking opportunities to give members the chance to test their speaking skills.
